Well I have the opposite problem. I have a neighbor above me who seems to love to walk hard all day. Now she must have other people living with her and I can hear everywhere they go in their apt. They move furniture every night. They slam doors like its a hobby. I am not an old bitty but I will say that you can do anything you want in your own apartment, but once it disturbs my peace and my sleep, then it is in my apartment. We don't pay all this money to have neighbors that seem to have no consideration for others. For the last 2 months, I stay out just not to hear all the noise from my upstairs neighbors. But they will get a security visit every single night if they don't bring the noise level down.

Thankfully my neighbors aren't so bad. They don't complain about noise but I feel as those Parkchester likes to fluff its chest and show it controls those living in Parkchester. When I moved here, the previous tenant had no carpeting, I put area rubs in my open spaces, leaving just the halls un-carpeted basically... they have come into my apartment to check, never said I needed to put more carpet down (80% of the floor needs to be covered).. and I see a charge. Am I crazy? I think Parkchester is!

Parkchester security just visited my apartment stating that a complaint was made due to loud noises. I'm by myself watching a chick flick!
This is the 3rd time in 2 months! I think one of my neighbors just want to pick on me!

I feel your pain. I have a downstairs neighbor who loves to harrass us. I live with a roommate. We do not have any children. We have full padded carpeting and she still manages to complain about us "walking around in heels" and "walking around too much". Just the other night she sent security up. It was a weeknight. I spent 3 hours SITTING watching TV and went to bed. Soon after going to bed I got a call from Parkchester saying I needed to open the door for security. She complained about my heel walking. I don't know what she hears but it's not from here. Needless to say she wasn't satisfied with that and she called them again Saturday when I had a few guests over I guess to prove her point. This is like the 25th time she's called them up here. I am compliant with my carpeting, I pay my rent on time and I don't even call the building here for any maintenance issues. But I'm beginning to worry that this lady's complaints might bring me some trouble when it comes time to renewing my lease. What do you think?

So, Parkchester Safety is sent to my apartment because of complaint that a tenant (s) hear children laughing and screaming....what gets me is that 1. I'm new to the building so I guess this is what some type of sick initiation?
2. Kids laugh, yes. They make noise yes. It wasn't excessive noise, nor was it loud to where complaint is necessary.
3. I have carpet as they MADE me purchase so now what??
I'm gonna assume it's my new neighbor hearing it through the walls because afterall, you can hear an entire phone conversation through these walls.
If Parkchester allows children to live in their complex then they need not acknowledge these old bags who don't wanna hear anything
I say, if you have a problem with children living next door to you, move into an old folks home.
