Parkchester's R G Ortiz Funeral Home will hold services for NYPD traffic enforcement agent, Kalyanarat Ranasinghe, on Friday, 12/6/13, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, 12/7/13 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Ranasinghe's body will then be cremated, a relative said.
An industrial vacuum truck hit Ranasinghe, 71, on E. 44th St. near Fifth Ave. as the driver pulled out of a parking space about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, cops said.
The driver stayed and was not charged.
Ranasinghe, a seven-year veteran who lived in the Bronx, died at the scene.
"They are very sad. They are emotional," said Ranasinghe's son-in-law, Dananjay Waragoda, 40, of his wife and mother-in-law.
"They are not eating. They haven't been sleeping. They are screaming."
