An elderly woman died from smoke inhalation when an early morning fire tore through her Parkchester apartment.
At around 12:27 am on Monday, 2/6/17, a fire broke out inside the 7th floor Parkchester Bronx apartment at 2051 Saint Raymond Avenue. Responding firefighters found 81 year old Patricia Parrish unresponsive. They quickly put out the blaze.
Parish was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Preliminary investigation cites smoke inhalation from the fire as the likely cause of death.
The city fire marshal is investigating the Parkchester apartment to determine the cause of the fatal fire.
